Laurie Cargill, Owner
When you contact Inviting Interiors, you’ll speak (and work) directly with the Owner! As principal designer/stager, Laurie usually works alone. When the scope of a project requires expertise outside her skill set, however, she collaborates with a variety of trusted partners so that client objectives are met in a coordinated and timely fashion.
Laurie understands the fundamental difference between interior decorating and home staging. She’s also quick to note that the common thread these services share lies in creating space that is warm and inviting. Laurie easily sees beyond ‘what is’ and envisions a ‘bigger picture’. She pairs her innate decorating and design skills with a heart for sharing the benefits of simplicity and order. While not a feng shui practitioner, Laurie intuitively feels the energy of a space and brings a sense of calm to every project. She works diligently to learn about the lifestyle, loves and passions of her clients and incorporates those elements as she designs space for them.
Laurie's decorating roots run deep. She first held a paint brush at the age of 6, while
‘helping’ her (Interior Decorator) mother paint the upstairs apartment of her great grandmother’s home. At the age of 12, Laurie became her mother’s wall-papering assistant. Later in life, while holding down full-time positions in corporate America and in academia, friends and family members sought her advice in preparing their houses for sale and in solving decorating dilemmas. As Laurie contemplated a career change in 2011, the idea of starting a business to help others create homes they would love came quite naturally, and Inviting Interiors was born.
